The EnOcean Alliance will be holding its next annual member meeting including an Open House Exhibition hosted by Neobuild and the Smart Building Alliance for building professionals, academics and governments on 17th May, 2018 at BGL BNP PARIBAS, Luxembourg.
San Ramon, CA – May 3, 2018 – “Energy Efficiency and Digital Transition” is the guiding theme of the EnOcean Alliance Members’ Meeting and Open House Event 2018 (17th May, BGL BNP PARIBAS, Luxembourg) hosted by partners Neobuild and SBA. Despite the huge improvements already realized, there is still huge scope for building automation to drive efficiency in building use. The majority of offices are only 60%-70% occupied during a working day and the majority of Real Estate is used less than 50% of the time. Since the inclusion of the Internet of Things (IoT), classic building automation is constantly changing, resulting in new service models evolving and bringing up changes, for example, for the fields of facility management and social housing. To enhance the energy performance of buildings and to drive digital transition in buildings forward, the EnOcean Alliance arranges its next Open House Event in cooperation with the partners Smart Building Alliance, Neobuild and CNCD Luxembourg. The event includes an exhibition, an excellent range of speakers of experts in building industry and governments. Additionally, it enables members of the EnOcean Alliance and building professionals to learn more about solutions for smart and cognitive buildings, social housing and homes of the future including maintenance-free applications based on the EnOcean wireless standard. Prior to the Open House Exhibition, the EnOcean Alliance will be holding its annual member meeting including key note speeches on IoT solutions for facility managers and social housing retrofit projects as well as technical trainings for its members.
Open House Exhibition
From 12 to 9.30 pm, the Open House Exhibition will offer a hands-on technology experience and discussions with key players and experts in energy efficiency, smart home and cognitive buildings. About 12 member companies of the EnOcean Alliance will be showing the latest flexible, cost-effective, energy efficient solutions for intelligent buildings.
A broad range of interoperable wireless products will be on display enabling attending specifiers, installers, integrators, contractors, consultants and architects to get practical experience and advice from EnOcean Alliance member companies on how to simply and quickly save energy and increase efficiency in existing and new buildings. Using self-powered wireless switches and sensors enabled by the EnOcean standard, building professionals can reduce planning, installation and rework time and costs – even retrofit without any disruption. These switches and sensors easily integrate into all building automation systems and have already been successfully deployed in over 500,000 buildings across the globe.
Open House Event
“Building automation is undergoing a fascinating transition at this point. We have seen the evolution from automated to smart buildings and now to cognitive, self-learning buildings where data from sensors is analysed and the results used to create a better, more efficient working environment. Education and networking is key to the adoption of cognitive building technology. Therefore, the Open House Event is an excellent opportunity to leverage the combined expertise of all members of the EnOcean Alliance and our partners, helping to create greater awareness of environmental issues and energy costs and to develop new exciting solutions for smart and cognitive buildings,” commented Graham Martin, CEO and Chairman of the EnOcean Alliance.
From 2 – 9.30 pm, the Open House Event will be opened by Bruno Renders from NeoBuild, Emmanuel Francois from Smart Buildings Alliance and Tom Eischen from ministry of Economy Luxembourg. Later on, experts in energy efficiency, smart home and cognitive building solutions will speak about residential housings, apartment buildings and social housings. Speakers will include Ron Van Erck and Sébastien Delpont (Greenflex), Eric Pozzo Deschanel (Bouygues Immobilier), Patrice Rismondo (Bouygues Construction), Jan Frederik Harksen (ZP Zuhause Plattform), Oliver Fischer (Digital Concepts) as well as André May (Citylity) and Jean-Francois Fabri (GCC).
Following, key players in building automation will speak about commercial and public buildings. Speakers will include Michel Rausch (BGL – BNP PARIBAS Luxembourg), Luc de Crémoux (Schneider Electric), Olivier Gresle (Engie SSINGERIE), Dave Lister (IA Connect), Guy Spenenr (Fond Belval) and Éric Cassar (Arkhenspaces). Afterwards, panel discussions will be taking place, talking about the evolution in business models for technology retrofits. Participants will have the chance to attend the round tables and join industry experts in discussing how to finance smart multi-services in buildings through energy efficiency contracting. Other topics will be security as a major challenge for building energy efficiency as well as advancing switches from proof of concept to massification.
The Open House Event will be an excellent opportunity to learn about recent projects and opportunities, government initiatives, new technologies, latest news of EnOcean Alliance as well as an excellent chance to network with colleagues from EnOcean Alliance and partner organizations, building professionals and legislators.
EnOcean Alliance Member Meeting
From 9 to 12 am, prior to the Open House Exhibition, the EnOcean Alliance will be holding its annual members meeting. The members meeting will be opened by key note speeches about IoT solutions for facility managers as well as social housing retrofit opportunities. Following, there will be a technical training offered for EnOcean Alliance members covering all of the EnOcean Alliance technical programs and background information. Afterwards, attendants will be informed about marketing tools, demand creation activities, recent projects as well as new European and National legislations.
